In every part of the world, we see the impact of climate change. In Zambia it means the rainy season is starting much later in the year and even during the rainy season there are periods of drought. This makes if very difficult for farmers to grow enough food. To support them in the longterm we started a program to capture the rainwater so it can be used for irrigation. However since the harvest at the beginning of 2024 was very poor because of the lack of rain, many villages suffered from a severe lack of food. In order to help out we organized a maize relief program. See below pictures of the handover of the maize in 19 villages in Kasenengwa
The maize was distributed during the months of september and october 2024. It was purchased and brought by truck from outside the Kasenengwa district because not enough maize was left available locally. Above pictures of the distribution by truck and the first handover of maize at Mishoro village.
Above videos show the flaggin of ceremony in Mishoro village in the Kingdom of Chief Mishoro. He expressed words of gratitude for helping his people and encouraged everyone to work with us. We are very grateful for the support of the Chief and his wife!
